Black Nugget Carbondale

The Black Nugget in Carbondale is one of our favorite venues, and one of the only “bar time” shows that we play these days. We’ve now played five shows at The Black Nugget, and every time gets better. Our latest one was for Carbondale’s “First Fridays,” a community-wide celebration on the first Friday of every month. We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, and the enthusiasm and energy was rather high on this night. The loose vibe rubbed off on Doctor Robert, as we extended and explored many new places. Here are some “jam” highlights from the show, followed by the entire show below.

Doctor Robert, Colorado Beatles Tribute

Doctor Robert would like to thank everyone that contributed to our successfully funded Kickstarter project to purchase a band SUV. We raised $17,054 from 139 backers! You can see our project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/710761623/help-doctor-robert-the-beatles-tribute-buy-a-band if you’d like to see the details. If you’d like to just see the fun video we put together for the project, you can see it here: http://youtu.be/4wRfDjiMu04

We continue to be amazed at the love and support we’ve received since 2010 when we started playing this music. Seeing so many people pledging toward our project shows us how many people enjoy our show, and we promise to keep moving the music into the future. Stay tuned for more shows being added to our schedule, we’re working on 2015 and hope to have more on our calendar in the coming weeks.

Thanks again for all the love, we’re excited to be performing music that creates magical moments for our audiences and ourselves. See you at the next show!

Doctor Robert’s Kickstarter Campaign

We’re proud to announce the launching of our Kickstarter Campaign to purchase a band vehicle. You can check out our project and all the rewards associated with each donation level at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/710761623/help-doctor-robert-the-beatles-tribute-buy-a-band.

We’ve been using personal vehicles to pull our trailer full of gear for over four years, and the road is taking its toll. We make enough money to cover expenses, but don’t make enough to put away into savings for a large purchase such as this. That’s why we’re asking for family, friends, and fan support through Kickstarter. Any amount helps, as we don’t get a penny if we don’t reach our goal of $16,500.

We really appreciate your time and consideration, as we’re dedicated to keeping this music and the Doctor Robert project on the road.

USA Pro Challenge 2014

Doctor Robert, The Beatles tribute, was very fortunate to be invited to perform at two finishes of the 2014 Pro Challenge road bike race. The first performance was after Stage 2 in Mt. Crested Butte, the second was after Stage 3 at Monarch Mountain. Thanks to both LOC’s for having us, we’re honored to be part of the biggest cycling event in the U.S.

Doctor Robert, The Colorado Beatles Tribute Band

Doctor Robert, The Colorado Beatles Tribute band, played two very memorable shows to close out an unbelievable July. We performed our third year at Salida’s “Thursdays @ 6″ series at Riverside Amphitheater on Thursday, July 24th. Though it was a rainy evening, we still managed to play a full show to a group of die-hard Beatles fans. Thanks to everyone for sticking it out with us, and for your patience while we scrambled to stay dry.

The next night brought us back to one of our favorite small taverns, The Black Nugget in Carbondale. This was our third time playing the Black Nugget as a full band, and it only gets better every time. This may have been the longest show we’ve played, with two marathon sets including over 60 songs played! We even covered Pink Floyd’s “Breathe” during our version of “Helter Skelter.” Here are a handful of recordings from the show:

Helter Skelter –> Breathe –> Helter Skelter

Aspen Fourth of July

Doctor Robert, The Beatles Tribute from Crested Butte, CO, just finished three of the finest shows we’ve played in four years as a band. July 2nd brought us to Lions Park in Basalt for their weekly “Music after 5:00″ series. Thanks to the enthusiastic crowd that made it out on a perfect evening for outdoor music.

July 3rd brought us to Winter Park for our first time. We got to play the biggest stage to date, with huge sound and around 1000 people enjoying the “High Note Thursdays” weekly series.

After three years playing Crested Butte’s Fourth of July festivities, we were invited to play Aspen celebration in 2014. Rumor has it there were 5000 people in Wagner Park for the fireworks display, and we were lucky enough to entertain everyone before and after the fireworks. Thanks to the wide variety of age groups that brought out their best singing voices, dancing shoes, and love for Beatles music. This may have been our finest show yet, and we can’t wait for another show like this one.

We recorded the 7/2/14 show in Basalt, here are some songs from the second set:

Doctor Robert

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, Dickens Opera House

Summer has officially begun… Doctor Robert performed at the kickoff party for Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s “Music on the Mountain” series for the second straight year, which means the Colorado outdoor summer music season has started. Thanks to everyone that braved the rain and wind to enjoy some Beatles music with Doctor Robert. This year 1,079 cans were dontated, quite a bit more than the 866 cans from last year’s kickoff party.

Our second night of music brought us to Dickens Opera House in Longmont for our first show at this amazing venue. The stage, sound, staff, and energy in the room are unparalleled, and we can’t wait to return to Dickens this fall/winter. Check out some recordings from the night here:

Wildwood Sounds in Del Norte

Doctor Robert can’t thank the good people of Del Norte and Wildwood Sounds enough for the amazing experience this past Saturday. We played 55 songs, over 200 minutes of music, and had the best time playing for an enthusiastic crowd. This was our fourth time playing Wildwood, and the place was standing-room only. We’re honored that so many of these fans have seen us every time we’ve been in Del Norte. Thanks to Stephen and Konnie for all the love we feel when we visit Wildwood Sounds.

Doctor Robert Beatles Tribute Video Mix

Doctor Robert would like to thank Rob, Michelle, and Josh at Green Garage Productions in Montrose, CO for a great night of music at Turn of the Century. The sound and lighting were top-notch, the crew did a great job promoting, and everyone that came out to the show had a fantastic time.
